"I whole-heartedly endorse Geoff Epstein for Mayor After working with Charlie Sisitsky when I was a member of Town Meeting, seeing some of the things he has been prioritizing as Mayor, and spending considerable time with Geoff discussing his background and plans for the future, I'm confident that Geoff will better serve the interests of Framingham's homeowners and taxpayers"

"In the last 4 years, city support for the schools has fallen dramatically. I support Geoff Epstein because he has the proven skills to reverse the decline in our schools."

"I am supporting Geoff Epstein for mayor because of his vast knowledge and understanding of municipal financing on both the city side and the school side.
He is excellent at diagnosing problems and developing effective solutions for them. Most important of all his qualities is that he is a good listener. I hope you'll join me in supporting Geoff when you vote this November."

Jeanne Bullock was a Town Meeting for over 25 years and also served as  chair of the Framingham Capital Budget Committee.

"Due to our growing unhappiness with the performance of the current Mayor and his administration we are looking for a change in
leadership that will bring new ideas and resources.

In particular we would like to see:

  • A reversal of the current emphasis on building (ugly!) apartment buildings without a robust cost/benefit analysis

  • A focus of development on neighborhood integrity and attraction/retention of businesses in the city

  • A realization that well-performing schools are vital to the health of the community by providing sound guidance and the necessary funding for teachers and student support services.

Geoff Epstein’s stated intentions align quite well with these needs. We’re confident that Geoff will provide effective leadership for the future of Framingham."

"We need a Mayor with Geoff's skills at analyzing complex issues, his commitment to serving the public and his ability to deliver quality results for the people of Framingham. My goal is to advance a new Framingham City Hall, where the doors are open and the "new normal" is public access to the facts. The only way to achieve that goal is with a new Mayor in City Hall, and that is Geoff Epstein. You will get straight answers from Geoff. He has my vote."

- Carol Spack

Carol Spack was a long-time elected member of the Town's Planning Board and is currently a candidate for City Council in District 2.

"I have always liked Charlie Sisitsky. But is liking someone enough? Geoff Epstein has detailed an agenda I favor. Simply put, I see his plans for Framingham as superior and progressive, meeting the needs of the people now and into the future. That’s why I endorse Geoff Epstein."

- Linda Fields

Linda Fields was a Town Meeting member for many years and a life member of the Democratic Committee. She's lived here for 60 years and her three sons were schooled in Framingham.

“I am supporting Geoff Epstein for Mayor even though I supported Charlie Sisitsky four years ago. Unfortunately, I've lost faith in Charlie due to his mishandling of MBTA-CA compliance, refusal to oppose rezoning, and failure to oppose the scale of potential Nobscot development.  The Mayor's inability to justify his positions in the face of overwhelming constituent opposition are inexcusable betrayals of public trust. Transparency and accountability from all levels of government are non-negotiable. Public officials must work for the interests of residents, not developers.

Geoff Epstein has impressed me with his intelligence, knowledge, and pragmatic approach to problem solving. Most importantly, he views the Mayor's job as serving the interests of his constituents. He is ready to put more resources into education, fix broken infrastructure, protect the environment, and use every available means to maintain affordability through smart development that respects every neighborhood.

Electing Geoff sends a powerful message: Framingham residents demand integrity, accountability, competence, and transparent problem solving driven by what is best for the community without regard to special interests.”

- John Mastrobattista

Framingham resident and environmental activist (speaking as a private citizen)

"This election sees Framingham at a critical turning point. Our choices are clear-- continue on the same path, under the same administration, and get more of the same -more high rise, high-density apartment buildings; escalating traffic congestion; deteriorating infrastructure; money to purchase a community center with questionable utility but no money to repair the city’s only school pool; more ugly urban sprawl with no interest in preserving open spaces that make Framingham pleasant.

This is the mayor’s history. Charlie Sisitsky has the support of state politicians and developers; as the past shows, he supports them over us. We have a final chance to halt the development free-for-all before we become another overpopulated, underfunded city with a housing range that favors transient renters instead of residents with a stake in the city.

Geoff Epstein has shown that he’s the independent-minded mayor we need to protect the future of our city. He will implement the wishes of his constituents rather than the desires of state officials  and developers."

Kathy is a Past Chairman of the Framingham Board of Selectmen

"I've been disappointed in a number of things the current administration has done or failed to do, most notably dealing with land use and economic development. Geoff Epstein will bring much-needed transparency, new ideas and strong problem-solving skills to deal with the serious challenges the city faces. He has my full support."

- Kathy Vassar

Kathy was a 30+-year member of town meeting, serving on multiple committees. She is a past president of the Town-wide PTO and was cohost of FRAMBORS and FRAMGOV

"I too have been a supporter of Charlie Sisitsky over the years. I was terribly disappointed to see him so blatantly favor the interests of developers, trying to rezone a 31-acre parcel of land in Nobscot over the overwhelming opposition from his constituents in the Nobscot area.

It was alarming to see how Charlie allowed the MBTA Communities Act deliberations among the City Council and Planning Board to turn into a debacle that has only added to historic divisions in our community.

I am supporting Geoff Epstein because he will not be beholden to developers and will provide leadership around important issues like schools, infrastructure, city budgets, and climate change. We need new energy and attention to detail from a leader who will work for the citizens of Framingham and not outside interests."

"Over the last four years Charlie Sisitsky has taken tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from real estate developers and other real estate interests. This raises the  concern in my mind that the current mayor places developers' interests ahead of residents' interests. This concern was solidified for me by the way the mayor handled the City's response to the MBTA Communities Act. His administration tried to include parcels of land where there was overwhelming opposition from area residents. The developers of one of those parcels had contributed thousands of dollars to his campaign. Then he bypassed the City Council and submitted a plan that he thought allowed for nearly 2,000 MORE units of high-density apartment housing than required by the law without any cost/benefit analysis.

Geoff Epstein, in contrast, has taken no campaign contributions from real estate interests. Geoff is willing to think outside the box for solutions. He was very vocal in pushing for a response to the MBTA Communities Act that excluded inappropriate parcels and would have taken credit for housing units recently built, as other municipalities had done. Geoff's solution would have considerably REDUCED the amount of high-density apartment housing allowed compared to the mayor's plan, thereby minimizing impacts on both North and South Framingham.

Please join me in voting for Geoff Epstein for mayor - it is time for a change from the political "business as usual" in Framingham."
